BAMS stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. It is 5½ years course, 4.5 year academic course & 1 year rotation internship training. The BAMS program enables the learners to be competent, capable to providing Ayurveda health services in Nepal, identifying and managing health institutions. After completion of this course, doctors will have integrated knowledge of Ayurveda, Allopathy, Yoga, Naturopathy etc. BAMS is equivalent to the Graduate in the related field.
Career Opportunities for BAMS
An Ayurvedic practitioner can get employment as medical officer/doctor at government and private Ayurvedic hospitals.
2. One can also start his/ her own practice or open own retail shop of Ayurveda medicines.
3. Ayurvedic doctors can work industries engaged in Ayurvedic preparations.
